Owning a berth licence
A Chaffers berth isn’t bought outright. You buy shares in Chaffers Marina Holdings Ltd, and those shares carry the right to a licence for a specific berth. Holdings owns Chaffers Marina Ltd, which holds the licence to operate the marina and grants the berth licences.
Shares tied to your berth
Each berth is linked to a parcel of shares in Chaffers Marina Holdings Ltd. Owning the shares gives you the right to that berth’s licence and a vote at the Holdings AGM.
A licence to 2058
Your berth licence is granted by Chaffers Marina Ltd and runs through to 2058, the same term as the marina’s own operating licence.
Ongoing costs
Owners pay a monthly berth fee, which covers the licence, asset management and insurance, plus the boatlift levy.
Your berth, your choice
Use it yourself, rent it out through the marina office, or apply to live aboard. All berth holders follow the marina’s by-laws.
