The wavescreen and walkway replacement continues over the coming year. UCL will work progressively along the marina, from Pier B through to Pier E, then back to finish Pier B itself.
- August 2026: pile remediation and sleeving on Pier B (complete)
- September 2026: strengthening works on Piers D and E, including two intermediate underpinning piles and UC tiebacks
- November to December 2026: design, fabrication and installation of a new gangway and gate for Pier E, plus an underwater inspection of the floating breakwater’s anchor chains
- January 2027: railings and capping between Piers D and E, and sleeving of the remaining piles on Pier A
- February to March 2027: the wavescreen and walkway rebuild moves to the stretch between Piers A and B
- May to July 2027: works in front of Pier B. Temporary access will run through the current Pier A set-up while UCL removes the old walkway and wavescreen, remediates the underpinning piles and installs an extension bracket for the new walkway
UCL will be off site in October 2026 and April 2027, with fabrication and galvanising continuing off site during those months.
Pier A: the new section is nearly ready. The access control components and the wavescreen cappings are with the manufacturer. Once they’re delivered and installed, our project engineer will inspect the work and sign it off before it opens. We’ll confirm the opening date as soon as we have it.
We’ll let berth holders know about access changes before each stage begins. Follow progress on the LTAMP page.
